Born in Genoa, Italy in 1451 on October 31st. His parents were Domenico Columbus and
Susanna Fontanarossa. He had 3 siblings, 2 younger brothers named Bartolomé and Diego, and 1 younger sister, Bianchinetta.

received little formal education as a child. Biographers believe that most of
his education came from sailors who populated Genoa, a wealthy maritime
commercial center.

Career
In 1476 he worked as a map maker and bookseller until 1481. He then set out to
be a sailor and explorer and became one in around
1492.
Accomplishments
Found America for the people in Europe, found that the world is round, found much more
land than the people in Europe thought there was.
Death He died in 1506 in Valladolid, Spain on May 20th.
